Features Review

Here’s our review of its features:

Design:

Obviously, you’re going to notice the design of the iPad 5th Generation first. That is because it hasn’t changed much. You’re getting the familiar design of the Air 2 with this device. However, it looks very good when you look at it in real life. Another thing you might notice is its thickness. It is a little thicker as well as heavier than its predecessor. However, the difference is nearly negligible. You’re not going to notice it at all.

This iPad feels good to hold in your hands. It weighs 469g. This indicates that carrying it around won’t be much of a problem for you. The back of the body is made of metal. This gives the device a smooth yet greppable build. The overall look of this table is very pretty. Keep in mind that you might want to buy a cover for it. That is because scratches will look really bad on its metal body.

Display:

iPad 5th Generation doesn’t disappoint display-wise as well. Everything you view on it looks amazing because of its excellent Retina display. This is 2048 x 1536 in terms of display resolution. This screen has 264 pixels per inch of pixel density.

These specifications, when combined, provide you with a great multimedia viewing experience.

This tablet is also good for use outdoors. That is due to its high brightness. It is fairly brighter than the original iPad Air. The device’s overall screen size is comfortable enough for everyday use. This means that it is neither very big nor very small.

General Performance:

You might not like to know it but this isn’t the very fast budget-friendly iPad you can get your hands on. However, it is still powerful enough to handle several basic tasks. We only perform a limited number of tasks on older models like iPad Mini 2. It’s either using apps or playing games. This device won’t disappoint you in both of them. That is because its A9 chipset can handle high-end apps and games very easily.

The RAM is a bit low (2GB), however. But you won’t care about it when all of your required apps will run smoothly on it. The device gets a little hot when you run high-end apps for a while on it. However, it’s not hot enough to make its usage uncomfortable.  The original operating system included in it was iOS 10.3. It could be upgraded to 11. Things changed in this regard when Apple announced the iPadOS for iPads. Fortunately, this model is capable of running it.

Storage:

Apple gives you three two different storage options for the iPad 5th Generation. The first one is with 32GB. As you can guess, it is the cheapest version of this model. The second option is 128GB.

Battery:

The battery life hasn’t improved very much as compared to the previous model. Its general lifetime is ten hours. This is if you browse the Internet or watch movies on it. This lifetime will decrease when you play games or run heavy apps on it.

As for normal usage, the 15% battery can last for around one and a half hours. The charging time may disappoint you a little as well. That is because this tablet takes around four hours to charge fully.

Camera Quality:

When picking out a tablet, the camera shouldn’t be your first consideration. Nevertheless, having it might be a useful feature. The iPad 5th Generation has a back camera with an 8MP resolution.

It captures very decent pictures and videos. However, the quality isn’t good enough to make this tablet your primary picture-capturing device. The resolution of the images it captures is 3264 x 2448 which is decent enough to capture pictures casually.

The front-facing camera is 1.2MP. It sounds very low compared to today’s market. Still, it can be used for general video calling.
